How we handle your information
This page covers thethinkingcollective.com and the work of Thinking Collective: what we collect, what we use it for, who else handles it, and how to have it changed or deleted.

This website
The site has no forms, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers, and it loads nothing from other companies. Our web host, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs of each visit, such as the IP address, the browser and the page requested. We do not use them to identify anyone.
Because the site does not track visitors, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals change nothing here. Links to Calendly, Instagram and Stripe open their own sites, where their own privacy policies apply.
When you email, call or book a call
If you email or call us, we get your email address or phone number and whatever you tell us. If you book a call, Calendly collects your name, email address, phone number and any answers you give, and passes them to us. We use this to reply to you, to make the call and to do the work you ask for.
If we emailed you first
We email businesses we think could use our work. We find them on OpenStreetMap, a public map, and take the contact address from the business's own website or from that map listing. We keep the business name, address and contact details we found, and a record of what we sent.
To stop these emails, reply with the word no, or write to jo@thethinkingcollective.com. We add your address to our do-not-contact list and will not email you again. Our emails contain no tracking pixels.
When you hire us
For a job we keep your business details, the brief and files you send, the work we make, and the invoice. Payments run through Stripe. Your card or bank details go to Stripe and never reach us. We see whether a payment went through, with basic details such as the last four digits of the card or account. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy (opens in a new tab).
Who else handles it
We use a small number of services to run the studio: Hostinger for this website and our email, Google Workspace for email and file storage, Calendly for booking calls, Stripe for payments, design software to make the work, and AI tools that help us write and organize email and records. When a job uses generative AI, the brief and the materials that job needs go to the tool that makes it.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep email and project records while we work together, and afterwards for as long as our business and tax records require.
Your choices
Write to jo@thethinkingcollective.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We reply within 30 days. Two things stay after a deletion request: invoices, which tax rules require us to keep, and your address on the do-not-contact list, so we never email you again.
Security
Card and bank details are handled only by Stripe. We never ask for them by email.
Children
This site and our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
